Biography
Susan Elizabeth "Betsy" Reider (or Ryder) was born on October 30, 1824, in Columbia County, Pennsylvania. She married first to David Reese, with whom she had a daughter, Rebecca, born in 1844. They split up between 1844 and 1846 because on January 14, 1847, David married second to Susannah George. Susan married second to Jacob Herriman and their first child of the seven known children they had together was born in 1848. Susan died on September 9, 1898, and rests in Fairview United Methodist Church Cemetery in Lairdsville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
Note: Susan Ryder is easy to confuse with David Reese's second wife, also called Susan (or Susana) George. She was born January 15, 1823 and died February 26, 1895.
