Mahala Mae Dykeman was a daughter of Arthur Dykeman and Olive Jacobs. She was born in 1902 and married Carl Samuel Walden on July 1, 1922, in Ithaca, Tompkins County, New York. This undated photo of the couple was copied from the photo album of her niece, the late Ethel (Daniels) Leonard.
Carl and Mahala's marriage license is shown below. They had at least three sons who survived her at the time of her death, which occurred on April 14, 1984. They were: Ernest E. Walden (1929-2015) of Interlaken, Gordon L. Walden (1937-2016), and Carl Walden, Jr., of Trumansburg.
