Abigail Goble

Abigail Goble was born on January 19, 1668/69, in Middlesex County, Massachusetts. Abigail married Joseph Dudley and died in 1705.

Abigail was a daughter of Thomas Goble (1604-1657) and his wife, Grace, (according to Ancestors of Florence Julia Brown), or Alice Brookman (according to his Findagrave memorial). The Findagrave memorial explains that Thomas and Alice were married in 1629 and came to Massachusetts Bay in 1634, settling first at Charlestown, based on church admission. He moved to Concord, Middlesex, Massachusetts, later in life and died there in 1657. His will was dated Nov. 30, 1657, and inventory was taken the following month on Dec. 11, 1657.

In the town records, (from "Concord, Massachusetts birth, marriages, and deaths, 1635-1850"), records three babies named Abigail Goble born in Concord:

• p. 14, Abigail born Jan. 19, 1669, daughter of Thomas Gobill (sic) and his wife, Mary.
• p. 39, Abigail born Feb. 28, 1693, daughter of John & Abigail Goble.
• p. 43, Abigail born Apr. 9, 1697, daughter of Thomas & Sarah (Shepard) Goble. (Thomas & Sarah married on Jan. 4, 1686. See p. 27).

Marriages:

• p. 35 Abegail Goble and Joseph Dudly (sic), Feb. 25, 1690.
• p. 43, Abigail and Joseph Harris, both of Concord, Nov. 8, 1722.
