Biography
Anne Browne was born January 13, 1544, at Edwardstone, Suffolk, England, a daughter of yeoman Henry Browne of Edwardstone and his wife Agnes. Anne married Adam Winthrop on February 20, 1579, at Groton, and they had at least four children. She died in Groton on April 19, 1629.
Anne Winthrop's brother was Gov. John Winthrop of the Winthrop Fleet, the third Governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony.
