Biography
Annie Robinson was a daughter of George Robinson and Emma (Griffith) Robinson. She was born October 12, 1870, in Stretford, Lancashire, England. "Stretford is a market town in Trafford, Greater Manchester, England, on flat ground between the River Mersey and the Manchester Ship Canal, 3.8 miles south of Manchester city centre." [Wikipedia]
Annie came to America with her parents about 1882 or 1883, when she was just about 12 years old. She married Harry Dickinson on November 17, 1889, in Camden, New Jersey. They lived in Pittsburgh until they moved to Newark in 1905. Annie died eight years later, on May 1, 1913. She was 42 years old. Her youngest child, Lucy, died three years later, in 1916. Annie was buried in Fairmount Cemetery in Newark. Harry died at the age of 72, on the 7th of December, 1935, in Newark, New Jersey. He is buried in Cedar Ridge Cemetery in Blairstown, Warren County, New Jersey. A headstone for Annie was placed near his, although her body rests in Newark. Harry and Annie had at least eight known children.
