Biography

Effie Rachel Shaner was born on the 6th of February, 1841, in Pennsylvania, the daughter of Jacob Shaner and Mary M. Dugan. She married Josiah M. Reese on New Years Day, 1856. She died on the 17th of June, 1907, and Josiah died exactly four years later, on the 17th of June, 1911.

On the death certificate of Effie's son, John Wesley Reese, her maiden name is given as "Effie Poust. On the 1942 death certificate of Effie's daughter, Mary Alice Kile, Effie's name was given as "Effie Shaner".

Note: Susan Shaner's records claim the following about "Effey":
