Biography

John Wilcox, Sr., was born in 1595 in Bury St Edmunds, St Edmundsbury Borough, Suffolk, England. He was among the early settlers of Hartford, Connecticut. His wife's name was Mary and she lived from 1582-1668. (Findagrave)

 

John's name is on the pioneers monument in the Center Church burying ground in Hartford. He died on October 1, 1651, at the age of 55 or 56 and is buried in the Ancient Burying Ground.
