Biography
Mary Polly Brown was born on the 12th of November, 1833, in Genoa, Cayuga County, New York. She was the daughter of Eugene Edwin Brown and Lydia King. She married Charles Russell Leonard before 1854 and was mother to at least 11 children. She died at the age of 78 in Locke, Cayuga County, New York, on the 14th of May, 1917, and is buried in Bird Cemetery in Locke, as "Mary Welch", the name of her 2nd husband, Peter Welch (sometimes spelled Walsh).
