Biography
John Huntley was born in Lyme, New London County, Connecticut, on November 24, 1677. He married there on February 2, 1699, to Elizabeth Pearson, daughter of Samuel Pearson and Dorcas Johnson. Together they had eleven known children, all born in Lyme. Records show they were affiliated with Lyme First Congregational Church.
John and his family "lived near Four Mile River in Lyme, presumably on the 44 acres which his father, Aaron deeded to him 22 Feb., 1702/3 consisting of both upland and meadow lying on both sides of the River". Four Mile River runs from the Nehantic State Forest in East Lyme down to Long Island Sound.
John's Will was entered into probate on April 10, 1750, probably soon after his passing.
