Biography
Mary Farrow was born in Hingham, Norfolk County, England, on September 22, 1633. The name was also written Farrar. She came to America with her parents in 1635. She married 1st to Samuel Stowell, a blacksmith, on the 25th of October, 1649, in Hingham, Massachusetts. He died on the 9th of November, 1683, in Hingham, and Mary married 2nd to Joshua Beal, on the 10th of October, 1689. According to Stowell Genealogy, Joshua was a widower who “lived on an adjoining lot and was a selectman of Hingham from 1669-1699 and a Deputy to the General Court for Hingham in 1700. Mary died in Hingham on the 24th of October, 1708, at the age of 75.”
