Biography
Mary was a daughter of John Maugridge and Mary Milton. She was born on September 23, 1669, in Bradninch, Mid Devon District in Devon, England. She came to America in 1717, settling in Exeter, Berks County, Pennsylvania, where her husband built a log cabin called "Boonecroft" in 1720. The log cabin burned in 1924. The stone farmhouse was built in 1733, a beautiful Colonial English style home which still stands and is on the National Register of Historic Places. She bore at least ten children and died on April 2, 1740, at the age of 70 in Berks County, Pennsylvania. She was buried in Exeter Friends Cemetery in Exeter Township.
