Biography

Maynard Washington Reese was born on the 20th of April, 1874 in Davidson, Sullivan County, Pennsylvania. He was a son of Josiah M. Reese & Effie Shaner. He married Ada Rebecca Temple on the 13th of January, 1900. She was born on the 16th of September, 1883, in Muncy, Lycoming, Pennsylvania, the daughter of John Lloyd Temple & Martha Jane Allen. Maynard and Ada moved to central New York between 1911 and 1913, settling in Ledyard, Cayuga County, New York, where he remained until his death, which occurred on the 2nd of December, 1947, in Aurora, Cayuga County, New York at the age of 73. (Aurora is a village in the town of Ledyard). Ada outlived him by 26 years and remained unmarried until her death at the age of 93. She died on the 30th of March, 1973 at Auburn.
