Biography
William Knowlton, Jr., was born in November of 1614 in Kent, England. He was the son of William Knowlton and Ann Elizabeth Smith. His father died on their voyage to America in 1639 and he died on July 17, 1655, at the age of 40, in Ipswich, Essex County, Massachusetts.
Note: William appears to have two entries on Findagrave. Memorial ID #34381589 and #70059007. Both entries agree on his parents but one says he married Elizabeth Balch (1626-1688) in 1640 and the other says he married Elizabeth Welch in 1638. I believe #70059007 to be correct, based on New England Marriages (married Elizabeth Balch).
In "Reese Family Record", his name was mistakenly given as John Knowlton, born 1608, in Canterbury, Kent, England. John married Elizabeth Welch.
