Genealogy Resources for Fairfield County, Connecticut

Fairfield County was one of Connecticut's first four counties established by an act of the Connecticut General Court in Hartford on May 10, 1666. At the time, Fairfield County contained the towns of Fairfield, Greenwich, Norwalk, Rye and Stratford. Later, in 1751, the northern part of Fairfield County was transferred to the new Litchfield County.

Fairfield County encompasses approximately 626 square miles* in the State of Connecticut.
