Capt. Oliver Bates's Company

Capt. Oliver Bates’s Company of Militiamen in Westford, Massachusetts, reportedly contained at least 36 men. The company belonged to Col. James Prescott's Regiment.

Pursuit of the British from Concord.

At least 2,478 men from Middlesex County responded to the alarm on April 19, 1775. Of these, 113 were from Westford. The names of the men in three of the county's companies (approximately 150 men) are lost.
